Omacmage finally got up to level 26. Unfortunately I can't afford to buy training in two of three new spells that are available - and they're good ones. I also can't afford to buy training for a number of potions.

We adventured in a logging camp on the Night Elf continent. There were so many great herbs there! But I didn't have time to do much picking. We accomplished the quests fairly easily, and then I hearthstoned back to Stormwind. So I'll have to make some quick money there, buy all the training I need, and then get back to the Night Elf area. If I can figure out how. Ship to that continent, griffin to Astranaar, ride to the big tunnel...I'll figure it out.

Oh, almost forgot about the compass: My fighter is trying to complete the Humble Beginnings/Simple Compass quest, but Quest Helper keeps pointing him wrong. I need to ignore it, I think, and look for a burned farmhouse instead.

I was up way the hell too late last night, grubbing every penny I could to get a mount for my fighter. Finally I succeeded: got him riding training and a chestnut mare. Silly as it may sound, it felt great to have him be riding around the woods! And the mare looks much better than the brown horse that my mage rides.

I was playing solo, of course. Nobody I knew was on.

I also had him train up his gun skill and two-handed axe skill. It was surprisingly fun using the gun, but I'll stick with the fine light crossbow for regular work, for now; it does more damage.

I'm so tired - I can hardly keep my eyes open!

Oh, one odd thing: I tried to complete the Humble Beginnings/Simple Compass quest, but when I got to the spot that Quest Helper was indicating, there was no compass there. Irritating!

Domac, my 10th-level paladin/tailor/enchanter, has been getting pretty good at tailoring. That's because my higher-level characters have sent her hundreds of pieces of linen and wool to work on. She can make 8-slot bags now, and replaced all her own six-slot bags. She'll do the same soon for any of my Alliance PCs who are still using any 6-slot bags.

A new friend (level 80!) ran Lukemac (fighter/miner/smith, currently level 21) through the Deadmines. I wasn't much help and didn't get much experience, but I was able to get a really nice two-handed maul. He also made a Frostweave bag for me which actually holds more than my backpack (!), since I kept running out of inventory space.

The one thing I wish I could do is find some silver to mine! Maybe I should look for a resource-finder add-on. If anyone can recommend one, please do!

The Horde was rampaging through Stormwind City last night; what else is new?

But there was a strange thing going on in the forest outside the city gates. A level-19 fighter was running around without weapons, punching wolves, spiders, and bandits to death.

If anyone had bothered to look or listen, they might have been interested in what he was saying...

"My anger management course isn't helping!"

[To a young wolf] "BAD DOGGIE!"

"It's not you, it's me!"

"Can't we all get along?"

"What's a beautiful girl like you doing in a crummy forest like this?"

I may have posted this before, but here's a list of almost all of my characters. There are a few others that Sebastian had me create; they're all fighters, and they're low-level and boring. If I start getting serious with any of them, I'll list them.

I'm always on Maelstrom unless it's down, by the way.

Maelstrom server

Alliance:
Omacmage - level 25 human mage/herbalist/alchemist
Lukemac - level 19 human fighter/miner/blacksmith
Domac - level 9 dwarf paladin/tailor/enchanter
Omacblade - level 6 human fighter/skinner/leatherworker
Linkomac - level 5 draenai hunter (no skills yet - he'll probably be jewel/inscription)

Horde:
Omacsham - level 15 Tauren shaman/skinner/leatherworker
Holylink - level 3 blood elf paladin (no skills yet)

Farstriders server

Alliance:
Nomac - level 4 night elf rogue

Horde:
Deadmac - level 2 undead priest

Once again no one I knew was on last night. *sigh*

I ran my fighter, Lukemac, and got him up to 19th level. I think I'll take him into a battleground soon. I wish I'd known earlier that battlegrounds were a good way to get experience, as long as you're between a "6" and "9" level (that is, in the last digit of your level).

One odd thing: lately I've been suddenly losing my weapon, and find myself fighting unarmed. I don't know if I'm starting to encounter enemies with some sort of disarm ability, or if something is screwed up. I have my weapon on an icon, so I can re-arm after a hit or two, but it's annoying. Particularly since my unarmed skill is virtually nil! I think I'll go into a low-level area and spend some time punching level-1 wolves to death, just to get the skill up. :D

I don't want to get involved in something that has huge responsibilities, but if I could find a good group for my fighter to quest with, that would be cool. Does anyone have any advice?

I was bored with WoW for the first time last night. Nobody I knew was on (except for a moment or two), and there wasn't a lot I could do. The Horde was rampaging everywhere my characters were, so after I took my fighter on a long run through the Wetlands to get another flight path, I packed it in.

I was hoping to get him to Darnassus to learn how to use a bow, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. Oh, and I tried a battleground with my mage; unfortunately everyone else was four levels higher, so I just got killed over and over and over...

So last night I turned my first character - a human fighter named Omacblade - into a skinner and leatherworker. Picked up a lot of skins fairly quickly, and mailed them to Lukemac. In return, Lukemac and Omacmage sent Omacblade money, so he could buy training and equipment in order to survive while collecting leather.

Unfortunately Lukemac lacked enough copper to make everything he needed, so I went on a copper & tin harvesting junket. It was a bit dangerous; at one point three elite Horde monsters had me so close to death that I was sure I'd had it, only to suddenly break off. And I wasn't able to find anywhere near as much tin as I'd hoped. But I got enough copper to make the necessary equipment - almost.

Actually I did, but along the way I suddenly realized that the belts I was making were far superior to the belt that I was wearing. So I put one on, and now I need to make yet another belt. I'll have to grab some more ore soon.

I also want to make some other profession specialists, but I'll have to do a little research first.

The servers went down last night, and then Teri called me, so I didn't get to do any party questing. But I badly wanted some stranglekelp herb for my mage - many of his potions use it, and I've never seen it before - so I spent the late evening swimming the coast of Westfall.

It was kind of interesting. I gathered about 40 stanglekelps, perhaps a few more. They were virtually all out at sea, some in deep water. But it wasn't hard to reach them. Most were unguarded, and for those that were, it was only a murloc or two; nothing I couldn't handle.

My herbalism and alchemy skills went up a lot. Didn't get much experience, though.

I got my Tauren shaman up to 14th level. Problem: I don't have anyone else to play with on the Horde side, and upcoming quests seem too tough to solo at my level. I may have to grind for a while. I'm also desperately short of cash; I can't afford to fully train my class!

My primary character, Omacmage, got up to level 19. Just one more to go before I can get a mount!

Sebastian had me create a new character for him (to watch me play), a Night Elf warrior. I wish he didn't always insist on warriors. He has also asked me not to show him the male undead options any more when we're creating new characters.
